The rod-seal range
Fit to standard hydraulic glands, mostly ISO 5597 / ISO 7425-2. Where a profile is rod-specific (shorter inner lip) rather than symmetrical, that is noted on the row so you do not fit a piston geometry on a rod.
Profile families
- Standard U-ring / u-cup (T1T, T1V, T1K family) — PU 92 Sh to 400 bar or NBR 90 Sh to 160 bar, 0.5 m/s. The cost-effective default with the widest size range.
- Double-lip U-rings with POM back-up (T1F, T1G, T1L, T1P) — 92 Sh PU/POM, 400 bar. The second dynamic lip cuts oil-film carry-over and helps exclude dirt; the POM back-up adds extrusion resistance for tight or high-Δp glands.
- Heavy-duty high-pressure (T1E, T1H) — T1E double lip + POM back-up + NBR energiser, 600 bar; T1H NBR/TPE/POM special profile, 700 bar, called out for shock-spike circuits as an alternative to chevron packing.
- PTFE/bronze composite (T3J, T3K, T3P) — filled-PTFE ring with NBR O-ring energiser; T3J rated to 800 bar and 15 m/s, −20 to +120 °C — injection-moulding machines, machine tools, presses, valve circuits.
- Buffer seal (B1C) — 92 Sh PU with POM support, fitted ahead of the primary seal to take pressure peaks and pump ripple. A supporting element, not a standalone seal.
- Static cover seal (T1Q) — 95 Sh PU drop-in for a statically-loaded O-ring, 630 bar.
- Pneumatic (T1R) — 80 Sh NBR, 12 bar, compact profile for short rods and valve bodies.
Compounds & media
- Polyurethane 92–95 Sh — abrasion and extrusion resistance, higher pressure than NBR at equal hardness, mineral oils. Avoid water/steam (hydrolysis) and strong acids/bases.
- NBR 70–90 Sh and fabric-reinforced NBR — mineral oils, greases, petroleum hydraulics; fabric adds extrusion resistance. Avoid ozone, glycol brake fluid, ketones.
- Bronze-filled PTFE — broad chemical range with wear and load capacity from the filler; low friction, high speed. Bronze corrodes in strong acids — carbon-graphite fill is the alternative there.
