Custom extrusions for any sealing geometry

Extruded sealing profiles fill the gap between O-rings and molded gaskets — they provide a continuous seal along linear or curved joints where no standard cross-section works. Doors, hatches, access panels, enclosures, glazing frames, HVAC equipment, automotive bodies, and aerospace fairings all rely on extruded profiles to exclude weather, dust, noise, and vibration.

The extrusion process forces uncured rubber or polymer compound through a die under heat and pressure. This allows virtually unlimited cross-section complexity — channels, lips, hollow chambers, asymmetric shapes, and co-extruded multi-material profiles can all be produced to tight dimensional tolerances.

We supply extruded profiles in EPDM, FKM, NBR, and silicone in all six standard profile families, cut to length and supplied on spools or in pre-cut pieces. Custom die development is available for non-standard cross-sections.

Tolerances per RMA standards: Extruded profiles are manufactured to RMA extrusion tolerance tables — these are wider than molded O-ring tolerances. If you need tight dimensional control on a critical sealing cross-section, specify the tolerance class (T1 or T2) and confirm with us before designing the groove.

Six standard extruded profile families

Tubing extrusion profile

Tubing

Round or oval hollow tube. Compresses under load to create a cushioned seal. Door gaskets, protective sleeving, vibration damping.

U-channel extrusion profile

U-Channel

Clips over a flange or panel edge. Provides edge protection and sealing contact on both faces. Equipment panels, sheet metal edges.

Trim edge extrusion profile

Trim / Edge Profile

Metal-insert core with rubber overmold. Grips sheet metal panels securely. Automotive trim, cabinet edges, protective edge finishing.

Window glazing extrusion profile

Window / Glazing

Multi-lip profile for glass retention and weather sealing. Automotive and architectural glazing, marine port lights, access panels.

P-shape extrusion profile

P-Shape / D-Shape

Hollow bulb on a flat base. Compresses predictably under closing force. Door seals on enclosures, hatches, access panels, pressure vessels.

Closed-cell sponge extrusion profile

Closed-Cell Sponge

Cellular structure with very low compression force. Ideal for irregular surfaces, low-closing-force applications, HVAC plenum sealing.

Extrudable rubber and polymer compounds

EPDM extruded profile

EPDM

–40°C to +120°C
Weather, ozone, and UV resistance. The standard material for outdoor door and window seals, HVAC, and construction glazing. Not compatible with oils or fuels.
FKM extruded profile

FKM (Viton®)

–20°C to +200°C
Aerospace fuel contacts, chemical processing piping seals, high-temperature enclosures. Best chemical resistance. Higher cost — specify when EPDM or NBR won't hold.
NBR extruded profile

NBR (Nitrile)

–40°C to +100°C
Oil, fuel, and hydraulic fluid resistance. Automotive engine bay seals, machinery access panels, industrial equipment exposed to petroleum products.
Silicone extruded profile

Silicone (VMQ)

–60°C to +230°C
Widest temperature range, FDA-compliant grades available. Food processing, medical, pharmaceutical, electronics, and aerospace applications requiring extreme temperature cycling.
