The piston-seal range
Decide single or double acting first, then whether you want a plain sealing ring plus separate guide rings, or a compact set that carries the guiding function in the same stack. Grooves follow ISO 6547 (compact) and ISO 7425-1 (PTFE slipper).
Profile families
- Two-piece double-acting (P1L, P1M) — one PU ring plus one NBR ring, or PU ring plus two POM guide rings; 400 bar, 0.5 m/s. General-purpose, POM rings double as back-up and bearing so no separate wear ring.
- Four-piece with dual back-up (P1H “PUP”) — 98 Sh PU ring, NBR energiser, two POM back-ups; 400 bar. Built for sustained high pressure.
- Compact sets (P2U, P1F) — NBR element with back-up and guide rings; heavy-duty P2U build holds zero sealing gap across 0–700 bar. Snap-installs on a one-piece piston.
- Glass-filled PA (P1Q) — Z-cut ring, 800 bar — the highest rating in the range, for shock loading beyond the 700 bar sets.
- PTFE T-seal (P2Q) — filled-PTFE ring, NBR energiser, POM/PA back-ups; 500 bar, 1.5 m/s, −45 to +120 °C, sized for large extrusion gaps and contaminated media.
- PTFE/bronze with O-ring energiser (P2W, P2X) — 400 bar, 5 m/s; change the O-ring compound to run non-mineral-oil media.
- Spring-energised PTFE (P2J) — PTFE + carbo-graphite, stainless lip spring; −200 to +260 °C, 15 m/s, 450 bar. FDA / EC 1935-2004 silicone-filled variants for food and pharma.
- Pneumatic (P1A, P1S, P3G/P3H, P1U/P1V/P1B/P1T) — NBR or PU, 12–16 bar; disc-over-elastomer and self-cushioning types, short-stroke focus.
Compounds & media
Polyurethane for high-pressure mineral-oil hydraulics at moderate speed; NBR and fabric NBR for general service and extrusion resistance; PTFE (bronze or carbo-graphite filled) for speed, temperature and chemical range, with the O-ring energiser as the compatibility-limiting part. HFA/HFB and HFC fire-resistant fluids carry reduced pressure and temperature limits — those are stated on the profile.
