The static-seal range
- O-rings (ORM) — NBR (mineral oils, fuels, general hydraulics, −30 to +100 °C), FKM/Viton (heat, fuels, aggressive chemicals, −20 to +200 °C), EPDM (water, steam, brake fluid, glycols — never petroleum oil), silicone and FVMQ. For static joints and slow dynamic only.
- X-rings / quad-rings (X1A) — four sealing points, fit standard O-ring grooves, resist spiral failure and cut friction 20–50 % versus a round O-ring. NBR, urethane, FKM, EPDM, silicone, 50–95 Sh.
- SAE flange seal (F1A) — 92 Sh PU, 630 bar, for SAE-type flange connections in place of a standard O-ring.
- O-ring-plus-back-up replacements (F3E, F3F) — one-piece 92–95 Sh PU in a standard O-ring groove, 500 bar, no twist, no separate back-up ring.
- DIN 3869 fitting seal (F1B) — non-round “JR” profile that will not twist in the groove, to DIN 3869 / DIN 3852 / ISO 9974-2 / ISO 1179-2, 600 bar.
- Back-up rings (B2A) — 90 Sh NBR anti-extrusion support behind primary seals in high-pressure glands.
- Bonded seals (D1A / D1B) — steel, zinc-plated, 304/316 stainless or aluminium-bronze washer with NBR (−40 to +120 °C) or FKM (−20 to +200 °C) ring bonded to the bore; to 400 bar. Sized by thread: BSPP G1/8–G1, metric M10×1–M33×2, torque 15–240 N·m.
- O-ring cord (CM) — NBR, EPDM, FKM, silicone, 1.0–12.7 mm, by the foot for cut, spliced or vulcanised custom rings outside the standard range.
Design guidance
Size an O-ring groove for 15–30 % cross-section squeeze and 60–85 % fill. Add a back-up ring on the low-pressure side once pressure and the extrusion gap would nibble the seal — broadly above ~100 bar, sooner with soft compounds or wide gaps. The F3E/F3F one-piece PU seals remove that second part on high-pressure joints.
